IWC Environmentally Friendly New TimberTex Strap

IWC launched a new TimberTex strap made of paper-based materials. This groundbreaking product is the result of in-depth research and development, which fully reflects IWC's commitment to continuously pursue innovation and responsible watchmaking. IWC has long been leading the development of cutting-edge materials in the field of luxury watches, and now it is launching a brand-new watchband mainly made of paper from a responsible source www.aomwatches.is.

The TimberTex strap has a soft and smooth texture, which can express luxury regardless of appearance or touch. Unlike synthetic leather made of plastic or petrochemical materials, 80% of this material is composed of natural plant fibers. The cellulose used comes from forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and is grown in European forests that are sustainably and responsibly managed by non-profit organizations. The material is made in Italy using traditional papermaking techniques and is colored with natural plant dyes to form irregular textures, making each strap unique.

The manufacture of TimberTex straps requires more than 60 steps, and craftsmanship plays a key role in the process. At the same time, recycled microfiber pads are used to enhance comfort and are carefully treated with recycled yarns to become another elegant and easy-to-wear non-leather strap option. These straps have also been internally and externally tested and meet all the quality standards of IWC. Not only are they extremely durable, they are also waterproof, and will not show signs of damage after being immersed in water.
